Freaks
Due to the fact that the following movie is in black and white, I thought it
would be cool to do the review in black and white. Enjoy!
Freaks
For about two months, me and the Terry have been searching
for this movie. I finally located it at the local Hollywood Video. This is an old horror
movie about circus "freaks." It originally came out in 1932, and it was directed by Tod
Browning. The movie was a little hard to follow, since the characters' voices were hard
to understand. But we did our best, and here's our review.
In this movie, we follow the story of a "little person" named Han who
falls in love with a trapeze artist named Ms. Peacock. She does not like him at all, but
she stays with him because he keeps buying her stuff. When he asks her to marry him, she
does so she can get more money. At the reception, she poisons him in an attempt to get
all of his money. All the while, the girl who was originally engaged to Han suspects the
woman of using him for his money. After Han's poisoning, the rest of the so-called
"freaks" realize that she's behind it. Late one rainy night, they all attack her and
turn her into a very odd-looking thing. One humourous part about this movie is a shot of
a man with no arms or legs inching his way toward the woman to kill her with a knife in
his mouth. How would that work? Ah, well, it is a very cool movie and I advise all of
you to go to the science fiction section of your local Hollywood Video store and rent it
today.
